Gian Costello graduated from St. Joseph's University in 1999 with a B.S. in Psychology. After deciding not to pursue psychology as a career, Gian's passion for personal health and wellness led him to seek his fitness trainer certification from the International Sports Sciences Association. He has been practicing as a private fitness trainer since 2001. Since then, Gian has pursued advanced education in strength and conditioning training as well as nutrition.
Gian's love for training stems from his own life. While he grew up playing a wide variety of sports including ice hockey, lacrosse, and baseball, Gian's greatest love is beach volleyball and he has been lucky enough to play regularly since 1993. He exercises in the Fitness Works training studio using high intensity training techniques and enjoys seeing the gains in his beach volleyball game.
Food is another aspect of life that Gian relishes and he enjoys cooking nearly as much as eating! To this end, he is always looking to add to his culinary repertoire, whether through his own endeavors in the kitchen or dining out.
Gian has trained a vast array of clients - all ages, weights, and fitness levels in a variety of settings from his own Fitness Works studio to the limited space and equipment setting where much more "creative" workouts are required. He believes that any client can achieve their goals through hard work, discipline, and a positive, committed attitude.
